About Us
The Mechanical Engineering Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Mesin, HMM) of Institut Teknologi Bandung is an official organization that brings together mechanical engineering students within the Institut Teknologi Bandung. As a student organization, we continuously strive to develop study skills based on the principle of solidarity to contribute to the surrounding society.

History
The Mechanical Engineering Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Mesin, HMM) of ITB is a non-profit student organization founded on the principle of kinship and solidarity. The organization was initially established in December 1946 as a student movement under the name Himpunan Mahasiswa Bangunan Mesin dan Listrik (Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Students). In 1956, the organization officially changed its name to the Mechanical Engineering Student Association (HMM) of ITB, with Robert Sufsidi serving as the first president of HMM ITB.
Originally, the Department of Mechanical Engineering was part of the Technische Hogeschool te Bandoeng (TH Bandung). The department was established on August 1, 1941. Later, the Mechanical Engineering Department became part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia.
Pillars of HMM ITB
STUDY
For a student, the primary goal of all activities is to pursue knowledge. The main reason for someone to become a member of HMM ITB is their status as a student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at ITB. On the other hand, although HMM ITB can be used by its members as a means for non-academic education, such as leadership, organizational skills, and human relationships, as mechanical engineering students at ITB, they expect academic education provided by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at ITB. Therefore, study remains the top priority.

SOLIDARITY
Academic achievements alone do not guarantee success for an individual as a social being in society. Therefore, students must equip themselves with social skills, beginning within the professional environment of HMM ITB, and extending to the broader, more diverse society.
Working conditions within a professional environment require unity, which is the positive outcome of the interaction process in an environment that shares common constraints and goals, such as in the student community. In this regard, HMM ITB fosters unity among its members through solidarity and democracy.
